Gearing up for the Globes 2007: Travel Weekly/Accenture Award - Innovation Travel Weekly - 05 Jan 2007

For Holiday Taxis managing director Paul Stanyer, winning the 2006 Travel Weekly Globe Award for Innovation was a dream come true.

He said: "We were chuffed even to be nominated, but to win was unbelievable. It was our first award and it will always be special."

The award represented three-and-a-half years hard work for Stanyer. "In the early days it was just me, a laptop and a mobile phone. The business was dismissed by many people as a silly idea."

Winning the award has bought more success: "The News of the World asked us to get involved in a travel promotion. They said they chose us because we won the Travel Weekly/Accenture award."
